Free Housing Scheme in Uttar Pradesh will be an ambitious housing scheme for homeless poor of UP state. UP government has planned to provide houses to the poor in Uttar Pradesh without costing a penny from them. UP Housing & Urban Planning Department is creating a proposals for the development of these free-cost houses for those people who don’t have house. Houses under free housing scheme in UP will be made available for homeless people of LIG (lower income group).
Free Housing Scheme in Uttar Pradesh
The aim of UP government behind formulating the scheme is to provide rehabilitate the residents of slum dwellers in urban areas. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to provide free houses to such poor people.
Housing department is preparing the proposals regarding to providing free housing for poor. Housing and Urban Planning Department is working on the task of collective the policies and rules using by the other states such as Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh for providing houses to poor. In this regard, a meeting of all the development authorities, Vice-Chancellor and Commissioner of Housing has been scheduled for April 25.
Uttar Pradesh Free Housing Scheme will be launched on the name of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
Apart from planning Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana UP, the government is providing affordable houses to poor under central sponsored Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-Housing for All) Scheme.
Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana UP, the central government providing an assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh and the state is providing 1 lakh to the beneficiary of PMAY belonging EWS (economical weaker section). Besides, a subsidy of 6.5 percent on the loan amount of 6.0 lakh is also being provided to the beneficiary of PMAY component for constructing new house or enhancement of old house.
Poor Welfare Card (Garib Kalyan Card)
For providing the benefits of Free Housing Scheme, the government will distribute Poor Welfare Card (Garib Kalyan Card) to poor people on the basis of which the beneficiaries will be selected for the scheme.
